BOOKS & AUTHORS

April 22, 2008

Gale’s electronic resource, What Do I Read Next, has changed it’s name to Books & Authors. With this change comes a new interface, new options and the ability to add your own titles and reviews. It is now very similar to Amazon. You can find it on our E-Resources page Alphabetically or through “Books & Literature” by Subject.

CLEAR YOUR MEMORY

April 4, 2008

When accessing a database from E-Resources you may get the message that a “search session expired” or you are not able to access a database even though the database is working correctly. This can actually be a technical problem usually caused by an overload of history and temporary Internet files stored within the browser. Just clear both of those items from the browser and then exit the browser and try again.

Netscape: Click on the + beside advance and then click on cache, Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache

Internet Explorer: Go to tolls and click on Internet Options. Go to Temporary Internet files Click Delete Cookies and Delete Files once done click OK. Shut down your browser and then restart.

AOL: Click “My AOL > Preferences > click www. > general tab > under History, click “Clear History” > click Temporary Internet Files and reduce “amount of disk space to use” to 50.
